Wherever you’re starting from, you’re welcome here.

Effective Evidence-Based Approaches

We offer care that’s rooted in evidence-based, trauma-informed practices.

Our therapists primarily work with Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while also integrating tools from CBT, mindfulness-based interventions, somatic awareness, and relational therapy

Anti-Opressive & Inclusive Practices

We are committed to offering therapy that is culturally responsive, anti-oppressive, and affirming of all identities.

Our team practices with an awareness of systemic barriers, and we strive to create a space where LGBTQ+, BIPOC, neurodivergent, and marginalized clients feel seen, respected, and supported in their full humanity.

Extended Insurance & Low Cost Options

Many insurance plans in Ontario cover sessions with Registered Psychotherapists (RPs), including those with qualifying status.

Providers like Canada Life, Sun Life, Manulife, Green Shield, and Blue Cross often include this under mental health benefits.

Healing shouldn't be a luxury.

About Our Affordable Program

“Early in my career, I worked in a public mental health setting where many people were living with complex trauma and systemic barriers. I saw firsthand how hard it was to access quality care—and how deeply people suffered because of it. That experience planted the seed for what would one day become Fluxo: a practice rooted in justice, compassion, and the belief that therapy should be available to everyone.”

Ana Cancian, RP

Founder, Director and Supervisor at Fluxo Psychotherapy

We created this program because we believe therapy should be:

Understanding therapy can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to help. Find answers to common questions below or reach out to us directly.

How does the low-cost therapy work?

You’ll be matched with a graduate counselling intern who is in the practicum stage of their training and is supervised weekly by a licensed therapist. Sessions are virtual, confidential, and grounded in the same trauma-informed, relational approach as all therapy at Fluxo. Many clients find intern therapy to be a meaningful, supportive experience—just at a more accessible fee.

Insurance coverage for therapy services can vary depending on your provider and plan. If you’re working with one of our graduate counselling interns, your sessions may not be directly billable—but in some cases, they can be submitted under their licensed supervisor.

At Fluxo Psychotherapy, our interns practice under the supervision of Ana Cancian, a Registered Psychotherapist. If your insurance accepts services rendered under supervision, you may be able to submit claims using Ana’s credentials.

We strongly recommend contacting your insurance provider to confirm coverage. Our team is happy to assist with receipts, supervision details, or documentation to support your claim.

Yes. The quality of therapy depends more on the strength of the relationship and the skill of the therapist than on the price of the session.
Our interns are passionate, well-trained, and carefully chosen for their alignment with our clinic values. They are supported by experienced supervisors and use evidence-based approaches to help you meet your goals.

At Fluxo, we’re committed to offering ethical, effective care—regardless of cost.
